Drawing in the Galleries (ages 8 through 14) Fall Semester 2009

Art programs for children of Members at the Family/Dual ($190) level and above offer students the unique experience of learning about art and creating their own works in the Museum. Students will visit a different Museum gallery each class and explore a variety of drawing techniques and materials as they create works based on what they see. Elements of drawing to be introduced include line, shape, value, color, gesture, pattern, scale, perspective, and composition. Students will create landscapes, still lifes, portraits, figure drawings, and more. Individual interests, abilities and creativity are encouraged as students learn and draw from the Museum's collection.
